The pedals
Right pedal go. Middle pedal stop.
That is the whole exam. The rest is feel, and you can start practising it right here.
Tap a pedal
Middle: brake
The most important pedal. It is pressure sensitive: press hard and fast at the start of braking, then ease off as you turn in. Think squeeze, not stamp. This one pedal is the difference between a good lap and a great one.
Try it
Press and hold. Feel the difference between squeeze and stamp.
Right pedal go. Middle pedal stop.
Keyboard: up arrow is throttle, down arrow is brake.
Brake in a straight line
Do your hard braking before you turn the wheel. Tyres can brake or turn well, not both at once.
Squeeze, release
Hit the brake firmly, then release it gradually as the corner tightens. That keeps the nose planted.
Patience on exit
Wait until the wheel is nearly straight before going full throttle. Early throttle spins the rear.
